# Google opens Gemini 4 Argon to developers worldwide and to paid Gemini subscribers

The model arrives in the Gemini API, the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search for AI Pro and Ultra users. Introductory API prices of $2 and $10 per million tokens double after 30 November.

**In short:** Google made Gemini 4 Argon available on 13 October 2026 to developers worldwide through the Gemini API, and to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. Introductory API prices are $2 input and $10 output per million tokens until 30 November.

## What changed

Google said on 13 October 2026 that Gemini 4 Argon is now available to developers and enterprises worldwide through the Gemini API, AI Studio and Google Cloud.[^1][^2] The model had first gone only to cybersecurity defenders in Google’s Fairwind programme at the end of September.[^1][^2]

Consumers can use it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search if they pay for Google AI Pro or Ultra.[^1][^2] Engadget lists AI Pro at $20 a month and Ultra from $100 a month in the US.[^2] Ultra subscribers also get it in Google Antigravity, Google’s agent-based coding tool.[^1]

## Price

Google lists introductory API prices of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input 95% off.[^1] After the introductory period ends on 30 November 2026, prices rise to $4 and $20.[^1][^2]

## Claims

Google says Argon ranks first on the Vals Index, which covers tasks in finance, coding, law and tax, and scores 87% on the ERQA embodied reasoning test.[^1] It also gives a 1 million token limit shared between input and output.[^1] These are Google’s own results.

Engadget reports that independent firm Artificial Analysis says Argon matches OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra on its Intelligence Index, at about 60% of the cost per task at the introductory prices.[^2]

## In the Gemini app

Google’s Josh Woodward said Argon answers faster with less hedging and repetition, and can reply while still thinking on longer tasks, Engadget reports.[^2]

## India

Google says the API is available globally; it does not give India-specific consumer pricing in the post.[^1]

## What to watch

Prices double after 30 November. Google says the rest of the Gemini 4 family will follow.[^1]
