# Omron agrees to buy industrial PC maker OnLogic for $675 million in a push into physical AI

The Japanese automation company says OnLogic will keep running as an independent business. The deal is expected to close around January 2027, subject to approvals.

**In short:** Omron announced on 12 October 2026 that it has agreed to acquire OnLogic, a US maker of rugged industrial PCs, and its parent Interlogic. Unite.AI reports the price as $675 million in cash on a debt-free, cash-free basis, with closing planned around January 2027.

## The deal

Omron, the Japanese automation company, announced on 12 October 2026 that it has agreed to acquire OnLogic, a US developer and maker of industrial PCs, together with its parent company Interlogic.[^1][^2]

Unite.AI reports the price as $675 million in cash, stated as enterprise value on a debt-free, cash-free basis, and says Omron will fund it mainly from cash on hand.[^2] Omron’s short notice on its website does not show the price.[^1]

## When it closes

The deal is planned to complete in or around January 2027, subject to regulatory approvals, according to Unite.AI.[^2] Omron expects little effect on its results for the year ending March 2027.[^2]

## Who OnLogic is

OnLogic, founded in 2003 and based in Vermont, makes rugged, highly configurable PCs used in factories and other industrial settings, sold mainly direct and built to order.[^2] Unite.AI reports it had 301 employees and net sales of $154.2 million in its 2025 financial year, with more than 90% of sales in the Americas and Europe.[^2] Chief executive Sean Larkin is expected to stay, and OnLogic will run as an independent business within Omron.[^2]

## Why it matters

So-called physical AI means AI that runs in machines, robots and factories rather than only in data centres. That needs tough computers at the “edge”, close to the equipment. Unite.AI frames the deal as part of Omron’s physical AI push.[^2]

## What is not known

Whether competition regulators will raise concerns, and how Omron plans to combine OnLogic’s products with its own automation systems.
