Research note: Microsoft’s Brad Smith says the UK is best placed to lead global AI safety rules
How we checked what Brad Smith said in two interviews, and kept his proposals separate from UK government policy.
What we set out to check
What Smith said, where, which rules he proposed, and whether the UK government has acted on them.
What we found
- TechCrunch reports remarks from a BBC podcast; ITV published a separate interview on 8 October.
- Both carry the same proposals and the washing machine and milk comparison.
Numbers that differ
