Research note
Research note: Google opens Gemini 4 Argon to developers worldwide and to paid Gemini subscribers
How we checked Gemini 4 Argon’s wider release, prices and benchmark claims against Google’s post and Engadget.
What we set out to check
Who can use Gemini 4 Argon now, what it costs, and which performance claims are Google’s.
What we found
- Google’s 13 October post confirms worldwide API access and availability for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
- Engadget matches this and adds US subscription prices and a third-party benchmark comparison.
Numbers that differ
None. The 60% cost comparison applies only at introductory prices, which Engadget notes, and we say so.
Labels we chose and why
- Confirmed for access and prices.
- Company claim for Google’s benchmarks.
- Unconfirmed for the Artificial Analysis comparison, which we saw only through Engadget.
What we could not verify
- India consumer pricing.
- Independent tests beyond Artificial Analysis.
What we searched
- Gemini 4 Argon now available developers API
- Gemini 4 Argon price introductory November 30
- Gemini 4 Argon Artificial Analysis
