Research note
Research note: OpenAI brings GPT-6 to all ChatGPT users and adds interactive “Intelligent UI” answers
How we checked which ChatGPT plans get which GPT-6 model, when, and what Intelligent UI does, using OpenAI’s announcement and 9to5Mac.
What we set out to check
Which plans get which model and when, what Intelligent UI is, and which claims are only OpenAI’s.
What we found
- OpenAI and 9to5Mac agree: Sol for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise from 7 October; Luna for Free and Go from the next day.
- Speed figures come only from OpenAI’s internal tests.
Numbers that differ
None. We noted that OpenAI’s page uses several model names (Sol, Luna, Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol) without fully explaining how they relate in ChatGPT, so we say so in the story.
Labels we chose and why
- Confirmed for plans, dates and features.
- Company claim for the 44% speed figure.
What we could not verify
- Message limits for each plan.
- How long the staged rollout will take.
What we searched
- OpenAI announces October 2026
- GPT-6 ChatGPT free users Luna
- ChatGPT Intelligent UI GPT-6
